An old colonist, Mrs. M. J. Trezise, died at her residence, Clare, on January 7, in her 81st year. She was born at St. Perrans, Zabolo, Cornwall, and came to the State with her parents in 1847. The family settled at the Burra, where the deceased was married to Mr. Francis Trezise in 1848. Shortly afterwards Mr. Trezise took up land in the Clare district, where the deceased had resided ever since. She succumbed to an attack of influenza, aggravated by the heat. She has left a widower; four sons (Mr. F. Trezise, of Warrandyte, Victoria; Mr. Richard Trezise, of Gannawarra, Victoria; Mr. Henry Trezise, of Pine Creek, Northern Territory; and Mr. William Trezise, late of Spalding), five daughters (Miss Trezise and Mrs. W. J. Hamilton, of Adelaide; and Mesdames E. K. Walker, of Petersburgh; H. J. Dart, of Sutherlands, and H. Walker, of Clare), and 17 grandchildren.

Transcriber's Note: Mary Jane TAMBLYN, aged 21, married Francis TREZISE on 23 December 1848 at the Kooringa schoolhouse.
