PERSONAL ITEMS
The death took place at Leeston, Canterbury, last week, of Mr James
Snell, an old identity, at the ripe age of 88 years. The late Mr Snell
was born at Tredavale, Cornwall, in 1829, and reached the Dominion in
the ship Waipua in January, 1877, and settled at Leeston, where he has
remained ever since. A family of seven sons and daughters is left to
mourn their loss, as follows:—Messrs S. H. Snell (Palmerston North), J.
Snell (Masterton), W. Snell (Dannevirke), Mrs J. W. Maddren (Hikurangi),
Mrs. J. W. Cork and Mrs S. Wilson (Christchurch), and Miss Snell (Leeston).
