The South Australian Register,
Thursday 13 July 1871
(Adelaide, South Australia)
DEATH.
PASCOE.—At Kooringa, on the 11th of July, of chronic dysentery, Mr.
Francis Pascoe, late of Releath, parish of Crowan, Cornwall, aged 71
years.
Transcriber's Note: Kooringa was the first company township in
Australia and, until the closure of the mine, was maintained as a
strictly company-run town. The township's name is derived from the
Aboriginal word kuri-ngga meaning either in the circle or locality of
the sheoak. (Tree)
