The South Australian Register,
Saturday 26 January 1878
(Adelaide, South Australia)
DEATH
PASCOE.— On the 19th January, at Kooringa, of apoplexy, Elizabeth,
relict of the late Mr. Francis Pascoe, of Kooringa, and formerly of
Crowan, Cornwall, England, aged 78 years.
Transcriber's note: Kooringa was the first company township in
Australia and, until the closure of the mine, was maintained as a
strictly company-run town. The township's name is derived from the
Aboriginal word kuri-ngga meaning either in the circle or locality of
the sheoak. (Tree)
