GYMPIE NEWS ABOUT SOME OF THE DEAD
Samuel Jory, aged 43, was a native of Cornwall, brother of W. Jory, of Mount Pleasant-road; Mrs. W. Palmer, Crescent-road; and Mrs. H. Jeffrey, Ashford’s Hill. He had been in Gympie about 12 years and worked in the South Glanmire and Monkland for 10 years. When hands were shortened at this mine at Christmas he left for Mount Morgan. He was a member of the Purple Border Lodge, and leaves a widow, but no children.
