MRS. ANN JOHNS DEAD
Former Rockford Woman Expired on Monday at Home in Oregon.
Mrs. Ann Johns, a former well known resident of Rockford, died at her home in Albany, Ore., Nov. 3, after long suffering, at the age of 60 years.
The decedent was born in England in 1842, but had lived in this country since 1851. The family lived in Rockford until 1864. Mrs. Johns was the youngest of several children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Johns. She was married to Thomas Johns in 1864.
Upon leaving Rockford the couple went to Wisconsin and later to Minneapolis and to Oregon in 1897.
She is survived by her husband and several brothers and sisters, as follows: Mrs. C. R. Haley, Richard Johns and William Johns of this city; Mrs. George Haycraft of Little Prairie, Wis.; Mrs. John Elivick of Decorah, Ia; Mrs. Elizabeth Fiddick of Duarte, Calif., and Thomas Johns of Cornwall, England.

DEATH IN OREGON OF MRS JOHNS
FORMER WELL KNOWN RESIDENT OF ROCKFORD PASSES AWAY
WAS A PIONEER OF THIS CITY
Daughter of Late Thomas Johns.
Lived Here Many Years—Leaves Many Relatives in This Section—Funeral Arrangements Unknown
William Johns received a telegram last night announcing the death at Albany, Oregon, of Mrs. Anna Johns, wife of Thomas Johns and a former resident of this city. Her demise occurred at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon after a long and painful illness.
Mrs. Johns was born at Cornwall, parish of Lansallos, England, Aug. 31, 1842. She came to this country with her parents Oct. 18, 1851, the family coming directly to Rockford.
Nov. 29, 1864, she was married in this city to Thomas Johns and in the fall of the same year they left for Wisconsin. Later they moved to Minneapolis, where they resided till 1897, when they went to Albany, Oregon.
Mrs. Johns is survived by her husband and several brothers and sisters, as follows: Mrs. C. R. Haley of East State Street, Richard Johns of North Winnebago Street, William Johns, who resides four miles north of Rockford, Mrs. George E. Haycraft of Little Prairie, Wis., Mrs. John Elwick of Decorah, Iowa, Mrs. Elizabeth Fiddick of Duaite, Cal., and Thomas Johns of Cornwall, England.
Mrs. Johns was better known to the older residents of Rockford, where she was educated and grew to womanhood. She was the youngest child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Johns.
Funeral arrangements are not yet known to relatives of this city.
