PERSONAL MATTERS
Mr Stephen Jacka, who came to Wellington over half a century ago and for
a great many years resided at Wadestown, died suddenly on Thursday
afternoon. The deceased was born in Cornwall eighty-three years ago. He
was a builder by trade, and for some years he carried on a big business
in Wellington. His wife died about two years ago, leaving a family of
three sons (Messrs Arthur and Harry Jacka, of Wellington, and Mr Thomas
Jacka, of Auckland) and two daughters (Mesdames Judd and Kew). The late
Mr Jacka was one of the earliest members of the City Council.
