Wednesday 11 May 1887 The Under Secretary for the Treasury has received a telegram from Mr. R. T. Hartley, Sub-collector of Customs, to the effect that a man named George Lawson, owner of the True Love, reports that a seaman named John Henry French, a native of Cornwall, England, fell overboard and was drowned off Barron River on the 29th April.
