The Under Secretary for the Treasury has received a telegram from Mr. R. T. Hartley, Sub-collector of Customs, to the effect that a man named George Lawson, owner of the True Love, reports that a seaman named John Henry French, a native of Cornwall, England, fell overboard and was drowned off Barron River on the 29th April. The body has not yet been recovered, but an inquiry has been held and closed.
