The South Australian Register,
Friday 19 June 1857
(Adelaide, South Australia)
DEATH.
On the 5th March, at Poldrouse, Crowan, Cornwall, Mary, wife of Mr.
Thomas Corey, and mother of Mr. Henry Corey, Kooringa, in the 62nd year
of her age.
Transcriber's note: Kooringa was the first company township in
Australia and, until the closure of the mine, was maintained as a
strictly company-run town. The township's name is derived from the
Aboriginal word kuri-ngga meaning either in the circle or locality of
the sheoak. (Tree)
