OBITUARY
The death of Mr. William Blight, aged 89, removed one of the oldest identities in the South-East. Mr. Blight was born at Nancekuke, Truro, Cornwall, After his arrival here, he worked as a mason at Wallaroo and Moonta, and then went to the South-East, where he lived at Mount Gambier, and later at Penola. The Mount Gambier Hospital, the Penola National Bank, the Coonawana wine cellars and public school were some of his work. Mr. Blight had been a member of the Oddfellows’ Lodge for 66 years, having been transferred from England to Moonta. Mrs. Blight, who was formerly Mrs. Agnes Bignell, of Goolwa, died some years ago. Six of the seven children of the marriage are alive—Mesdames W. McLean and J. Snell (Penola), Messrs. W. Blight (Waikerie), Joe Blight (Willunga), James Blight (Adelaide), and Jack Blight (Renmark).
