The Jackson Citizen,
30 November 1853
(Michigan)
DIED.—In Sandstone, on Friday night, the 25th inst.,
Mr. JAMES BAILEY, aged 73 years, 8 months and 19 days.
Mr Bailey was a native of Cornwall, England, form whence he immigrated
to New York, many years since. The last 12 years of his life he resided
in Sandstone, in this County. He had through a long life been
distinguished as an upright, christian man; and during this last and
only sickness of his life, he looked back upon his long pilgrimage with
satisfaction, and met his death calmly and was resigned. His disease was
Inflamation of the Bowels, with which he was attacked the Wednesday
preceeding his decease. He leaves an aged companion, a large family
circle, and a community of friends to mourn his departure.
