The Scranton Republican, Monday 8 March 1897
(Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, USA)

Dunmore people were shocked Saturday afternoon to hear that Edward ANGWIN, sr. had died at 1 o'clock. Mr. ANGWIN was injured a few days before in No. 1 mine of the Pennsylvania Coal company by a light fall of roof, but as his injuries appeared only slight, the accident was not thought to be serious. Mr. ANGWIN was born in Cornwall, England, and was 57 years, 11 months and 6 days of age. He was a faithful employee of the Pennsylvania Coal Co. for thirty years. Deceased leaves one brother, John ANGWIN, of Priceburg, and a wife and five children, all of this place. They are Edward, Richard, Harry and Garfield, and Mrs. George DAINTY. The afflicted family has the sympathy of the entire community in their trial. Mr. ANGWIN was a member of the Golden Eagle and Odd Fellows of this town. The funeral will be held in the M. E. church tomorrow afternoon. The funeral sermon will be preached by Rev. William Edgar.
