The Scranton Republican, Monday 8 March 1897 Dunmore people were shocked Saturday afternoon to hear that Edward
ANGWIN,
sr. had died at 1 o'clock. Mr. ANGWIN was injured a few days before in
No. 1
mine of the Pennsylvania Coal company by a light fall of roof, but as
his
injuries appeared only slight, the accident was not thought to be
serious.
Mr. ANGWIN was born in Cornwall, England, and was 57 years, 11 months
and 6
days of age. He was a faithful employee of the Pennsylvania Coal Co. for
thirty years. Deceased leaves one brother, John ANGWIN, of Priceburg,
and a
wife and five children, all of this place. They are Edward, Richard,
Harry
and Garfield, and Mrs. George DAINTY. The afflicted family has the
sympathy
of the entire community in their trial. Mr. ANGWIN was a member of the
Golden Eagle and Odd Fellows of this town. The funeral will be held in
the
M. E. church tomorrow afternoon. The funeral sermon will be preached by
Rev.
