The Will of John Berriman, dated 29 May 1748
In The Name of God Amen I John Berriman of
the parish of Zennor in the County of Cornwall Tinner being Sick and weak of
Boddy but of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my Last Will and
Testament in manner and form following
First I Give and Bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty
God hoping by the Merritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my Only Lord
and Saviour to receive Free and full pardon of all my Sins and Transgressions
and for my Body to have a decent and Christian Buriall at the discretion of my
Executor hereinafter named.
Imprimis Item I Give unto my son Author five pounds to be paid
him at the Full end of two years after my decease by my Executor hereafter named
and three Ewe Sheep to his three Elder sons.
It I Give unto my son David Five pounds to be paid at the End
of three years after my discease by my Executor hereafter named.
It I Give unto my son Thomas five shillings to be paid after my
discease by my Executor whensoever he shall come to Receive it
It I Give unto my daughter Mary three pounds to be paid her at
the End of Three years and Six months after my discease.
It I Give unto Zipporah my wife that part of the Estate I now
lives on with these Roomes of the dwelling house called the Kitchen and the
Chamber above itt and the Linnc/Linne? and the Stock thereon during her natural
Life, and after her discease to my Executor hereafter named.
It: I Give all the rest of my Efects Goods and Chattels Lands
and Tenements moveable and unmoveable I Give unto my son Richard hereby making
him my whole and full Executor of this my last will and Testament whatsoever
hereby Revokeing all other Wills and Testaments whatsoever
In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and Seale this the Twenty Ninth
day of May 1748.

The Before written Will of the abovenamed John Berriman was
Proved in Common form the 11th May 1749. Before the Revd. Mr. William Waddon Clk
Master of arts Officiater and Admion of all and Singular the Goods & Chattels of
the said deced. and of all things howsoever Concerning his said will was Granted
to the Executor therein named being first sworn et. Saveing et.
