William Collomb
30th January 1646
In the name of God Amen the XXVth Day of January Ano Dni 1644 one
thousand six hundred forty & fower I Wm Collomb of the pishe of
Tywardreath in the Countie of Cornwall husbandman being weake of
body yet sound of memory for wch I give thanks & praise unto his
holy name, Doe make this My last Will & testament in manner &
forme following, First I bequeath my soule to God my Maker &
redeemer, & my body to Christian burial; It I give unto the
poore of the pishe of Tywardreath 3-4d Item I give & devise unto
Joane my wife the use, occupation, right & title of all those my
messuages lands & Tenemts with the appurtenances in Trevennow
within the sd pishe during her naturall life; which? I hold by two
Several leases, one from Degorie Chamond? Esq deceased & the
other from Charles Roscarrock Esq And after her death I give &
devise unto Wm Collomb my sonne my terme? of the Messuages, Lands
& Tenemts aforesd excepting one house called the highe house &
the new? garden, two closes called the Slades, the lower xxxxxx
xxxxxx& lower xxxxx of the other new xxxx wch I give & devise
unto Richard Collomb my sonne; Provided always & my will &
meaning is that my sonne Will Collomb shall paye yearly unto my
sonne John Collomb Duringe his life Forty shillings to be pd att
fower tymes in the year after the death of my sd wife, that is to
say att the Feast of the Nativitye of St. John Baptist St.
Michaell th’arcangle, the birth of Christ & the annunciation of
the virgin Mary by equal portions, And also pay three years after
her death unto my Daughter Jane eight pounds to my Daughter
Alice
eight ponds & to my Daughter Margerie Forty shillings And that
the sd Richard my sonne shall after the Death of my sd wife paye
out of the sd pemisses to him by me soe devised, unto the sd
William yearly Duringe the contynuinge of my terme thirtie?
shillings six pence being the rent payable to the Landlord of the
pemisses to be pd quarterly as aforsd in even portons And alsoe
shall paye fower yeares after the death of my sd wife unto my sd
Daughters Jane fower pounds unto Alice fower pounds & unto
Margerie Forty shillings And my will & farther meaninge is that
if the sd William my sonne or my sonne Richard shall
default of
their payments aforesd unto my Daughters That then it shall be
lawful them and such of them as shall bee unpaid to take the
rights and titles of the sd devised several pemisses of xxxx them
making default of payment respectively until the sd several
sums? so bequeathed & given are fully satisfied And I doe hereby
revoke all other my former Wills & testaments; All the rest of my
goods & chattels not given nor bequeathed I doe give & bequeath
unto my wife Joane & her I ordayne & constitute my full & only
Executrix In witness whereof I have put hereunder my hand & seale
the day & yeare first above written.
