Will of Ambrose Bawden, 8 April 1702
In the name of God Amen The Eighth Day of April In
the
yeare of our Lord God one Thousand Seaven Hundred and two
I Ambrose Bawden of the parish of Tywardreath in the County of
Cornwall Taylor Beeing in good health and of sound & perfect
Memory (thanks bee to allmighty God) Doe make and ordaine the
ensuing to bee my last Will and Testament, Revoking all former
Wills by mee made. That is to say First I Bequeath my soule unto
the hands of God my Creator, and of Jesus Christ my Redeemer by
whose meritts I hope to bee eternally saved, And my body to be
Decently Enterred with Christian Buriall at the charge of my
Executor hereafter named. I order Bequeath and give unto my
wellbeloved wife Elizabeth full power to live and Dwell upon the
Estate I now have in Tywardreath Churchtown wch I lately bought of
Thomas Kestle as long as shee liveth if my present leased Estate
therein soe long continues, And to have for her own particular use
there one Bed furnished, with the free use of any goods I leave there
at my death, from tyme to tyme during her life, & during that tyme
to take any of the Fruits thereon grown for her use. Item I give &
Bequeath unto my sister Dorothy Ten shillings yearely during
her life by quarterly paymts from my Death And the tenemt wch I
took in lease of Mr. William Couche gent sometyme in the tenure of
William
Counter? to bee charged with and liable unto the payment thereof
Item I give unto my said sister's Daughter Elizabeth Twenty
shillings to bee paid within one yeare after my Decease. Item I give &
Bequeath unto my youngest sister Ann the wife of Thomas
Clemens?
Tenn shillings. Item I give to the poore of Tywardreath Five shillings
All the rest of my Goods and Chattles (my Debts being paid And
my legacies performed) I Give and Bequeath unto my sonn Ambrose
Bawden whom I doe hereby make and ordaine to bee the only and
sole Executor of this my last will and Testamt, Witness my Hand
& seale the Day and yeare above written. 1702.
The said Ambrose Bawden
Did declare the
above written the Day and yeare aforesaid
to bee his last will and Testamt and Did
then signe and seale the same in the presence
