Will of Anne Edwards, dated 31 October 1854
I, Anne Edwards of the Borough of Truro, Widow, do
make my Will as follows, I give all and Singular my Estate real and
personal unto my Brother - in - law William Edwards of Plympton Mine
Agent, Thomas Hitchins aforesaid Wharfinger, and Hephzibah Buzza of the
same place (wife of Mr Edward Buzza of Truro Carpenter) their Heirs
Executors and Administrators and assign according to the nature of the
property, In Trust for my infant child Mary Anne her Heirs Executors
Administrators and assign for her own sole and absolute use and benefit
and to be had held and enjoyed by her independent of any husband she may
marry, and without being subject to the control debts or engagements of
such husband. And I appoint the said William Edwards, Thomas Hitchins,
and Hephzibah Buzza Executors and executrix of this my Will and
Guardians of my said child until she shall attain the age of Twenty one
years and I expressly empower the said William Edwards, Thomas Hitchins,
and Hephzibah Buzza and the survivors and survivor of them and the Heirs
Executors or Administrators of such survivor to all and convert into
money the whole or any part of my real and personal Estate when and as
they, he or she shall think expedient and to invest the proceeds of such
sale in the public Stocks or funds of Great Britain or on Government or
real Securities in England and to vary such Securities for others of a
like nature at discretion, and I direct the Trustees and Trustee for the
time being acting under my Will to apply the whole or a competent part
of the income of my real and personal Estate and the proceeds thereof,
and also such part of the proceeds as they, he or she may think fit for
and towards the maintenance, education, and advancement in life of my
said child till she attains the age of Twenty one years: and I direct
that all surplus income and proceeds shall be invested and accumulate
for the benefit in manner aforesaid. In Witness where of I the said Anne
Edwards have hereunto set my hand the Thirty first day of October one
thousand eight hundred and fifty four.

for the last Will and Testament in the presence of us, present
same time, who in her presence, in the presence of each other,
and at her request, have hereunto subscribed names as witnesses |
