Will of Edward Hallet, dated 13 January 1743/4
In the name of God Amen this Thirteenth Day of
January in the year of our Lord 1743/4 I Edward Hallet of the parish of
Stratton and County of Cornwall Yeoman being of a Sound and perfect mind
and memory (Praised be God) but considering the uncertainty of this
Transitory Life do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in
manner and form following (That is to say)
Imprimis I Give and Bequeath my Soul unto Almighty God who gave it me
hopeing through the Merritts and Mediation of my Redeemer Jesus Christ
to Enjoy Eternal Happiness And my body I Committ to the Earth to be
Buryed in a Decent Manner and according to my Degree by my Executor
hereafter named.
Item I Give unto my Daughter Ann Hallet the sum of Sixty pounds of
Lawfull English Money to be paid her at the End of One Year next after
my Death.
Item I Give unto my Daughter Phebe Hallet the sum of Sixty Pounds of
Lawfull English Money to be paid her at the end of Two Years next after
my Death.
Item I Give unto my Daughter Sarah Warmington Wife of William Warmington
a half Crown.
Item All the rest of my Lands Chattells Quick and Dead Goods and all
other my Effects whatsoever I do hereby Give Devise and Bequeath unto my
Dearly Beloved Son Edward Hallet, which said Edward Hallet I do hereby
make whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
renouncing all former Will or Wills by me at any time made heretofore.
And in Testimony that this is my last Will and Testament I have hereunto
sett my hand and Seal the Day and Year first above written.

And Testament of the abovesaid

The above said Will of the abovenamed Edward Hallet
was proved in Common Form the 30th Day of August 1746 Before the Revd Mr
William Waddon Clerke Master of Arts Official etc & Admion of the Goods
etc of the said Dead & of all things howsoever concerning his said Will
was Granted to the Executor named therein ?----- first Sworne etc
Saveing etc.
The above written Will is a True Coppy of the last Will and Testament of
the abovenamed Edward Hallet Dead, Examined and Compared with the
Original this 11th Day of September 1746 by us
