Will of Joan Edgcomb, dated 1 April 1744

In The Name of God Amen I Joan EDGCOMB of the Parish of Stock Climsland in the County of Cornwall widdo being perfect in mind and memory thanks be to God thearfore due Mack and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as folloeth.
First I Bequeth my Soul to Almighty God my Macker heoping to be Saved by the Merits of Christ my Saviour and my Bodde to be buried in Christian burial at the Charge of my Execetors hereafter named.
Item I Give to John EDGCOMB my Son in Law two pounds of Lawfull Monne in Six after my deces and my Great Brass Crock.
Item I Give unto William CARNECH my Brother one Shilling.
Item I Give unto Mary SEMMONS my Sister my Best Gound and Cote.
Item I Give unto Frances PALMER my Sister and unto Mary the wife of Samuel GRUBB one field of Chattel Estate being in the parish of Lanteglos and all my Housel good Macking them Joint Execetors of this my Last Will and Testament Revockin all other Will and Testaments whatsoever Also I order John CROFT to Receve John EDGCOMBs Legeses and to tack care of them till he come of the age of twenty one years Ould
As witness my hand this first day of Aprel Anno Domini 1744.

May 30th 1744. To my friend John CRIFFT
I desire you to make this Alteration on my Will, Instead of Giving
my Best Gownd and Coat to my Sister Mary, I Give it to my Sister Frances
PALMER; and only the Brass Crock to Jno. EDGCOMB and to my Brother
William CARNECK one Shilling and to my Sister Mary SYMONS one Shilling
Witness my hand the Sign of Joan EDGCOMB

The within written will and Codicil of the
within Named Joan EDGCOMB deced is a true Copy
Examined and Compared with the Original this
30th day of December 1749. By us

before the Revd. mr William WADDON Clk Master of Arts Official et.
and cediuion? of the Goods et. of the said deced with thesd. Will and Codicil
annexed was Granted to John EDGCOMB a Legatee named in the
Said Will, (Frances Wife of John PALMER and Mary Wife of Samuel
GRUBB Executrixes Named in the said Will having been first Legally
Cited but not accepting et.) Being first Sworne et. Oath being
first made et. Bond being first Given et. Saveing et.
