The Will of Richard Treweeks, dated 28 December 1742

In the Name of God Amen I Richard Treweeks of the parish of Sheviock in the County of Cornwall, Farmer, being weak and sick in body but of perfect mind and memory. Thanks therefore be Given to Almighty God do make and ordain this my present last will and Testament in manner and Form following (that is to say) first and principally I commit my soul into the hand of God that gave it and my body I commit unto the earth to be decently Buried at the discretion of my Executors herein after named and as touching the disposition of all such Temporal Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow on me I Give devise and dispose thereof as follows.
 
First I will that my debts and funeral charges shall be first paid and discharged. ALSO I give to my eldest son Robert ten shillings. ALSO I give unto my son John ten shillings. ALSO I give unto my daughter Thomasine the wife of John Dyland ten shillings. ALSO I give unto my daughter Jane Treweeks ten pounds. ALL the Rest and Residue of my personall Estate, Goods, Chattels, Lands, Tenements and Testamentary Effects whatsoever not before Given or Bequeathed I do Give devise and Bequeath unto my Beloved wife Christian and unto my son William whom I do hereby Constitute and appoint Joint Executors of this my present last will and Testament and my will that my said Goods and Chattels shall be equally divided Between my said wife Christian and son William share and share alike. To have and to Hold the same in severalty to them their Executors and Assignes for ever. And I do hereby revoke all former and other wills whether in word or writing by me at any time heretofore made confirming this and none other to be my present last will and Testament.

In Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and Seal this Twenty Eight day of December in the year of Our Lord God One thousand seven hundred and Forty two 1742.
 
Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Richard Treweeks as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said Testator and the presence of each other.

The before written will of the above named Richard Treweeks decd is a true Copy Examined and Compared with the original this 26th day of May 1750 by us

The beforewritten will of the beforenamed Richard Treweeks decd was proved in common form the ?? day of May 1750, before the Revd Mr Wm Waddon? Clerk, Ma of Arts official cr…? And Admon of all and singular the Goods etc of the ……? And of all Kings howsoever concerning his said will was Granted to William Treweeks one of the Exors in the said will named Resaring? A power of Granting ……? Like admonts? To Christian Treweek the other of the Exors in the said will named whom she shall think fit to take the same. Being first in due form of law sworn.
