Settlement Paper for John and Mary Jane Morrish,
Children of George, dated 15 February 1850
In the matter of an order for the Removal of John
Morrish aged ten years and nine months or thereabouts and Mary Jane
Morrish aged nine years or thereabouts (the children of George Morrish
labourer) paupers from the Parish of Stoke Damerel in the Borough of
Devonport in the County of Devon to the Parish of Sheviock in the County
of Cornwall.
To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Sheviock
in the County of Cornwall.
We hereby give you notice that we do abandon the Order of Removal
obtained by us under the hands and seals of George Glasson and John
Williams Esquires two of Her Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the
said Borough of Devonport for the Removal of the said John Morrish and
Mary Jane Morrish from our Parish of Stoke Damerel to your said Parish
of Sheviock a copy of which order as also the grounds of removal on
which we intendedto rely in support of the said order we sent to you on
the Twenty fourth day of January last And we further give you notice
that all costs which may henceforth be incurred by you in reference to
the said Order or in prosecuting an appeal against the said Order will
be incurred at your own risk.
Given under our hands at the Parish of Stoke Damerel aforesaid this
fifteenth day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
