Will of Spry Roberts, dated 3 August 1742
 

In the name of God Amen I Spry Roberts of the Parish of St, Stephens next Saltash in the County of Cornwall Yeoman being in my Perfect Sence and of Sound and Perfect Memory and Remembrance doe hereby revoake and make voide all Will or Wills formerly by me made, and do now make and Ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First I give and Bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator hopeing through the Merritts of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ to have full pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and my Body I committ to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named. Item I Give and Bequeath unto Anne Roberts my Wife One Shilling. Item I Give unto my nephew Robert Coutch one shilling. Item I give unto my neece Damaris Coutch the sume of Ten pounds of Lawful Money of Great Brittain to be paid unto her one Halfe Year after my Death. Item I give unto the five Children of my Brother John Roberts Called John, Spry, Mary, Elizabeth and Jane One Guinea of Gold to each of them to be paid one halfe Year after my Death. Item I give unto Daniele Truscott the Elder of the Parish of Landrake One Halfe Guinea of Gold. All the rest of my Lands Goods and Chattels of what Kind Nature or Degree soever, I do hereby Give and Bequeath to my loveing Brother John Roberts whom I do hereby make and Ordain to be the Whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. My Will and Desire is that my said Executor after my Death as soon as Conveniently he can shall sell my Effects and pay all my Debts Funeral Charges and Legasies according to the True Intent and meaning hereof In Witness whereof I the said Spry Roberts to this my last Will and Testament have sett my hand and seale the Third day of August in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred Forty and Six. Anno 1746

The above written Will was proved in Common forme the 8th day of August 1746 Before the Revd. Mr. William Waddon Clerke Master of Arts Official etc and Admion of the Goods etc of the said Deced and of all things however concerning his said Will was Granted to the Executor in the said Will Named (being fist sworn etc.) Saveing etc.
No Invenry. Exhibited
 
The abovewritten Will is a True Copy of the last Will and Testament of the above named Spry Roberts Examined and Compared with the Original this 18th day of September 1746 By us
