Cyril Victor G MOORSHEAD was the son of John & Emma MOORSHEAD. He was born at, Lydford, Devon, his birth being registered in the June Q of 1887, (Tavistock Registration District).
 
1891 census aged 3 living with parents & siblings at Tavistock Road, Lydford, Devon.
 
1901 census aged 13 living with his widowed mother & siblings at 55, Fore Street, Saltash.
Cyril’s father John MOORSHEAD, a Prison Officer at Dartmoor Prison had died aged 49 in the December Q of 1894 when Cyril was 7 years old.
 
1911 census aged 23 living with his mother Emma at 2 Church Park, Saltash. Occupation given as general labourer.
