KITT, James Martin

Please note that the name inscribed on St. Stephens by Saltash war memorial is KITT James M however all military & census records researched list him as Martin James KITT. He may well have been using the name Martin to save confusion with his father James KITT.
 
James Martin KITT was the son of James & Harriet Kate KITT. He was born at St. Stephens by Saltash in 1898, his birth being registered as James Martin KITT in the December Q of that year (St. Germans registration district).
 
1901 census aged 2, listed as Martin KITT, living with parents & siblings at Cumble Tor, St Stephens, Saltash, Cornwall.
 
1911 census aged 12, listed as Martin KITT, living with parents & siblings at Cumble Tor, St Stephens, Saltash, Cornwall
