Will of William Rowse, dated 9 May 1816

In the name of God Amen. I William Rowse of the Parish of Roach in the County of Cornwall Tinner being weak in Body, but of sound Mind, Memory and understanding thanks be to God for the same, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following - - - - -
First I give and devise to my beloved Wife Philippa Rowse for so long a Time as She shall continue to live with my Executor one Annuity or clear yearly sum of Five Pounds to be paid her by equal quarterly payments, the said Annuity to be issuing and payable out of my part Dole or share in Broadwater Tinstream work in the Parish of Luxullion, my Executor providing my said Wife and her Daughter proper diet and lodging so long as they shall continue to live with him, but if my said Wife and my Executor shall not choose to live together, then I give and devise to my said Wife an additional Annuity of One Pound making in the whole six Pounds to be paid her by equal quarterly payments out of my before mentioned part dole or share in Broadwater Tinstream work as aforesaid for the support of herself and Daughter untill her Daughter shall attain the Age of Sixteen Years, and from and immediately after that Time I give and devise to my said Wife for and during the term of her Natural life, one Annuity or clear yearly sum of Four Pounds, to be issuing and payable out of my aforesaid part dole or share in Broadwater Tinstream work by equal quarterly payments if she continues my Widow and the Profits arising out of my said part and share shall be sufficient to pay the same, But if my said Wife shall Marry then the said Annuity shall cease from the time of such Marriage, and my Executor shall pay my said Wife the sum of Ten Pounds immediately on such Marriage. I also give my said Wife, my second best Feather Bed, furnished, to be delivered to her when she shall go from my Executor to live - - - - - - - - - - - -
Also. I give and bequeath to my Son Edward Rowse the sum of Thirty Pounds to be paid him at the end of one year next after my Death - -
Also. I give and bequeath to each of my five Sons, John, Timothy, Reuben, Charles and Joseph, the sum of Twenty Five Pounds to be paid them when they shall respectively attain the Age of Twenty one years - - - - - - - - -
Also. I give and bequeath to each of my four Daughters, Jenepher, Miriam, Mary and Ann, the sum of Twenty Pounds, to be paid them when they shall respectively attain the Age of Twenty one years - - - - - - - - - - -
Also. All my other Goods, Chattells, Money and securities for Money and effects of what kind or nature so ever that I shall be possessed of or entitled unto at the time of my Death, I give and devise the same to my son William Rowse upon this condition, that he shall not sell nor dispose of any of my Tinstream works until my youngest child shall attain the age of twenty one years, that work commonly called Black Pepper only excepted, And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said son William Rowse, the whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby binding him to pay all my lawful debts and the aforesaid annuities and Legacies at the Times and in manner as aforesaid, And also to provide a decent Maintainance according to their degree for such of my Children as shall not be able to provide for themselves until they shall respectively attain the Age of Twenty one years. And I do hereby appoint Samson Jullians of the Parish of Withiell, Yeoman, and James Roberts of the Parish of Roach, Tinner, Guardians over my aforesaid Children until they shall respectively attain the age of Twenty one years. And I do hereby make void all former Wills and Testaments by me made, ratifying and confirming this only to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this nineth Day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Sixteen.

have subscribed our names as Witnesses hereunto.

And Admon of all and singular the Goods etc of the said deced or any way concerning the said Will, was and is granted to William Rowse the son of the said deced and Sole Executor named in the said Will
