Will of Richard Thomas, dated 12 April 1747

In the Name of God Amen I Richard Thomas of the Parish of Redruth in the County of Cornwall Tinner being Sick and weak in Body but Sound and Disposeing Mind Memory and Understanding Praised be Almighty God do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following That is to say First I Bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator hopeing for Pardon and forgiveness in and through the Merrits and Mediation of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ my Body to the Earth to be Decently Entered at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter named and as to my Wordly Goods I Dispose thereof as follows Imp’es(?) I Give and Bequeath unto my Dear and Beloved Wife Catherine Thomas all my House and Household Goods and Chattells Moveable and Immoveable and to Dispose the same in the Best Manner as she thinks proper towards the Rearing up of the children and in cause my Wife Catherine shall think it proper to Marry the said House and Household Goods Chattells et Moveable and Immoveable is to go a main share and share alike amongst the Four Children and she to have only One Shilling. This is my last Will and Testament hereby and Annulling all other and former Wills by me at anytime heretofore made Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal this 12th Day of April 1747.

The above written Will was Proved in Common Form the 19th June 1747 Before the Revd. Mr Wm. Waddon Clerk M’r of Arts Official ex. And Admion of the Goods et of the Deced and of all things howsoever concerning the said Will was Granted to Catherine Thomas the Widdow & Relict of (thev’d?) Deced and Principal Legatee named in thes’d Will/being first Sworne ex./ Saveing ex./ In: 24 L: 0 s: 0 d
The above written Will is a True Coppy Examined and Compared with the Original This 22nd Day of June 1747
