Order for Fugler to maintain a base
child
Margery Roberts order
Cornwall to wit
Whereas on or about the 22nd day Augt last Margery
Roberts single woman of the Parish of Probus was
deliverd of a female Bastard Child in the said Parish of
Probus which is now living, and likely to become
chargeable to the said Parish of Probus, and whereas
upon due Examination of the Premyses, it appears that
Richard Fugler of the Parish of Probus is the Father of
the said Bastard Child, now we Samuell Fooks and Francis
Gregor Esq two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for
the County aforesaid, and living nearest to the said
Parish of Probus of any in the said County for the
Relief of the said Parish of Probus and for the
Maintenance of the said Bastard Child, this day being
the 23rd day of Janry according to the statutes in that
case made and provided, Order the said Richard Fugler
(which we adjudge to be the Father of the said Bastard)
to pay weekly, and every ?---, for the Time of the Birth
of the said Child, and as long as she shall become
chargeable to the said Parish of Probus unto the Church
Wardens or Overseers of the said Parish of Probus for
the time being, the sum of ?---- shillings for and
towards the maintenance of the said Child
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and
seals at Tresillian this 23rd day Janry 1740
