Know all men by these presents, That
we Richard Fugler of the Parish of Probus in the County
of Cornwall Yeoman John Fugler and James Fugler Brothers
of the said Richard Fugler (both of the Parish of
Merther in the s County) do bind ourselves our Heirs
Exors and Admrs unto Richard Bone Benjamin Seccomb
yeomen John Langdon Cordwainder and William Yeoman
yeoman Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of Probus in the County aforesaid in the
full sum of forty pounds of lawfull money of Great
Britain to be paid to the said Richard Bone Benjamin
Seccomb John Langdon and William Yeoman their Executors
Admrs or their Successors for the time being To which
Payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves
joyntly and severally our Heirs Executors and
Administrators firmly by these presents given under our
Hands and Seals his seventh Day of June in the
thirteenth year of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord King
George the Second and the year of our Lord God 1740.
Whereas Margery Roberts of the Parish of Probus
abovementioned single woman is now bigg with a Bastard
Child which if born in the said Parish of Probus will be
chargeable to the Parishioners thereof, if not timely
prevented and whereas the said Margery Roberts hath
sworn the abovenamed Richard Fugler to be father of such
Child or Children as the said Margery Roberts is bigg
with as aforesaid Now the Condition of this present
obligation is such that if the above-bounden Richard
Fugler John Fugler and James Fugler or some or one of
them their some or one of their Heirs Exors or Admrs do
and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter
maintain and provide for such Child or Children
wherewith the said Margery Roberts is now bigg as
aforesaid that also do and shall from time to time and
at all times hereafter in all Things well and truly free
acquit exonerate and discharge save harmless and keep
indempnify’d the said Richard Bone Benjamin Seccomb John
Langdon and William Yeoman and their Successors and all
other the Parishioners of the said Parish of Probus and
their Lands Tenements Goods and Chattles of and from the
maintenance of such Child or Children wherewith the said
Margery Roberts is bigg as aforesaid And of and from all
Cost Charges Damages and Expenses relating thereunto,
That then this present Obligation shall be void and of
no effect, otherwise to be and remain in full force and
virtue
