Know all Men by these Presents that we Henry Rowe Junr of the Parish of Probus in the County of Cornwall Yeoman, and Henry Rowe (Senr) of Probus aforesaid, are held and firmly bound unto John Kessell Senr and Thomas Nankivell churchwardens, and John Kessell, John Beel, and William Kessell, Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Probus in the said County (in trust for the said parishioners of the said Parish) in the sum of Fifty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said churchwardens and overseers, or their certain Attorney, their executors administrators or assigns: To which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, and each of us jointly and severally, and our and each and every of our heirs, executors, and administrators, firmly by these presents; Sealed with our seals, and Dated the twentythird day of May in the Fortieth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the third of Great Britain, France and Ireland, king defender of the faith and so forth, and in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight Hundred
 
The Condition of this obligation is such that whereas Elizabeth Lane of the Parish of Probus single woman hath declared that on the sixteenth Day of May now last past at Probus Church-town, in the Parish of Probus in the County aforesaid, she the said Elizabeth Lane was delivered of a (female) Bastard Child (named Elizabeth) and that the said bastard Child is likely to become chargeable to the said Parish of Probus, and hath charged the abovebound Henry Rowe (Junior) with having gotten her with child of the said bastard Child, If therefore the same Henry Rowe (Junior) and Henry Rowe (Senr) or either of them, their or either of their heirs, executors, or Administrators, do and shall from time to time, and at all times hereafter, fully and clearly indemnify and save harmless, as well the abovenamed Churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Probus and their successors for the time being, as also all and singular, the other parishioners and inhabitants of the said Parish of Probus which now are, or hereafter shall be for the time being of and from all manner of costs, taxes, rates, assessments, and Charges whatsoever, for or by reason of the birth, education, and maintenance of the said bastard Child, and of and from all actions, suits, troubles, and other Charges and demands whatsoever touching or concerning the same, that then this Obligation to be void, otherwise of force
