Know all men by these presents that
we Simon Anear of the Parish of Probus and County of
Cornwall and George Huddy of the Parish and County
aforesaid are held and firmly bound to John Truscott and
William Rowe, Churchwardens, and William Plummer and
Melchisedec Hotten Overseers of the Poor of the said
parish of Probus and to their successors for the time
being in the full sum of fifty pounds of good and lawful
money of Great Britain to be paid to the said John
Truscott William Rowe William Plummer and Melchisedec
Hotten or some or one of them, or to their successors,
or their lawful Attorneys for the time being: to which
payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and
every of us by himself, for and in the whole, our Heirs,
Executors and Administrators, and every of us, firmly by
these presents. Sealed with our seals, dated this fourth
day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and forty six.
The Condition of this present Obligation is such Whereas
Anne Green single woman, was lately delivered of a
bastard male child, which is likely to become chargeable
to the said Parish of Probus, that if the above bound
Simon Anear and George Huddy or either or any of them,
their or either of their Heirs, Executors, or
Administrators, do and shall from time to time, and at
all times hereafter fully and clearly acquit free and
discharge or well and sufficiently save and keep
harmless and indemnified the above named John Truscott
William Rowe William Plummer and Melchisedec Hotten and
their successors for the time being, and every of them,
as also the inhabitants and Parishioners of the said
Parish of Probus which now are, or hereafter shall be
for the time being, and every of them, of and from all
manner of Expences, damages, costs and charges
whatsoever, which shall or may at any time hereafter
arise, happen, grow or be imposed upon them, or either
or any of them, for or by reason or means of the
maintenance, education and bringing up of the said
Bastard Child, and of and from all other actions, suits,
troubles, charges, damages and demands whatsoever.
touching or concerning the same: Then this present
obligation to be void and of no Effect, otherwise to
remain and be in full power, force, and virtue.
