Mr James Dunkin and Mr Dyer Bone to Mr M Truscott and Churchwardens and overseers of Probus
Bond for the maintainance of Martha Dunstones Base Child
 
Know all Men by these presents That we James Dunkin and Reuben Dyer Bone both of the parish of Probus in the County of Cornwall yeomen are bound and firmly obliged unto Mathew Truscott and William Roberts and younger Churchwardens and James Edwards and Sampson Tresawna Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of Probus in the County aforesd in the sum of forty Pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain To be paid to the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of Probus or either of them or to their Successors for the time being or either of them for which said payment well and faithfully to be made we bind ourselves jointly and severally our and each of our Heirs Execrs and Admrs and every of them firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seales Dated this Eleventh day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and sixtytwo
 
The Condition of this present Obligation is such That Whereas Martha Dunstone of the said parish of Probus singlewoman is now big with a Child or Children which when borne will probably be a Bastard or Bastards and liable to become chargeable to the said parish if not timely prevented If therefore they the abovebounden James Dunkin and Reuben Dyer Bone and each of them their and each of their Heirs Execrs and Admrs do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter in all things well and truly free acquitt and discharge save harmless and keep indemnifyed as well the said Mathew Truscott and William Roberts the younger James Edwards and Sampson Tresawna Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of Probus and their successors for the time being as also all other the Inhabitants and Parishioners of the said parish which now are or hereafter shall be and every of them of and from all and all manner of Costs Charges Damages Troubles and Incumberances whatsoever for or by Reason of the Birth Lyeing In Nurseing Education Maintainance or bringing up of such Base Child or Children with which the said Martha Dunstone is now big as aforesaid and of and from all other actions suites Expences and Demands whatsoever which they the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said parish or their successors for the time being shall or may bear sustaine or be put unto for or by means of the said Base Child or Children or of any other Matter or thing whatsoever touching or concerning the same That Then this present Obligation shall be void otherwise shall stand and be in full force strength and vertue
