Cornwall (To Wit.) To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Perranarworthal in the said County and to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Kea in the said County and to each and every of them.
 
Upon complaint of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Perranarworthal aforesaid, in the said County unto Us whose names are hereunto set, and seals affixed, two of his Majesty’s Justices of the peace in and for the said County and one of us of the Quorum, That Robert OSTLER ..th Jane his Wife and Mark aged a…t fourteen years George aged ..out twelve years and Dewney aged about six years his Children hath come .. inhabit in the said Parish of Perranarworthal not having gained a legal settlement there; nor produced any Certificate owning them to be settled elsewhere; and that the said Robert OSTLER and his said Wif. … Children are likely to become chargeable to the said Parish of Perranarworthal
We the said Justices upon due proof made thereof, as well upon the examination of the said Robert OSTLER upon Oath otherwise, and likewise upon due consideration h….
Of the premises, do adjudge the same to be true; and We do likewise adjudge that the lawful settlement of him the said Robert OSTLER and his said Wife and Children is in the …ish of Kea in the said County We do therefore require you the said Churchwardens … …..eers of the Poor of the said Parish of Perranarworthal for some or one of you, to convey the said Robert OSTLER and his said Wife and Children from and … of your said Parish of Perranarworthal to the said Parish of Kea and them deliver to the ….chwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to some or one .. them, together with this our Order, or a true Copy thereof, at … same time shewing to them the Original; and We do hereby require you the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Kea to receive and provide for them as inhabitants of your said Parish of Kea

And one of us of the Quorum, That Loveday SKINNER Singlewoman hath come to inhabit in the said Parish of Perranarworthal not having gained a legal settlement there: nor produced any Certificate owning her to be settled elsewhere: and that the said Loveday SKINNER is likely to become chargeable to the said Parish of Perranarworthal We the said Justices upon due proof made thereof, as well upon the examination of the said Loveday SKINNER upon Oath, as otherwise, and likewise upon due consideration ha.. of the premises, do adjudge the same to be true; and We do likewise adjudge that the lawful settlement of her the said Loveday SKINNER is in the said Parish of Kenwyn in the said County We do therefore require you the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Perranarworthal or some or one of you, to convey the said Loveday SKINNER from and out of your said Parish of Perranarworthal to the said Parish of Kenwyn and her deliver to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, together with this our Order, or a true Copy thereof, at the same time shewing to them the Original; and We do hereby require you the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Kenwyn to receive and provide for her as an inhabitant of your Parish of Kenwyn. CORNWALL. The Voluntary Examination of John BRIDGEMAN of the Parish of Mylor in the County of Cornwall Labourer taken on Oath this second day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and Ninety one Before Sir Michael NOWELL Knight and Thomas TREWREN Esquire two of his majesty’s Justices of the peace in and for the said County – who saith that he is about eighty two years of age that he was Born in the Parish of Luxulion in the County of Cornwall and is the son of Thomas and Mary BRIDGEMAN that his father resided in Luxulion and had an Estate there his own property of about Thirty Pounds per year that when this Examinant was about sixteen or seventeen years of age he went to live with Mr Thomas PRYNN who then lived in Luxulion and carried on large concerns in the Timber Trade that he lived with Mr PRYNN a great many years but was always a weekly servant and received an half guinea a week for so long a time that he lived with him That after living with Mr PRYNN for several years he had some dispute with him whereupon he went and hired himself as a Covenant Servant to Richard ANGOVE ( who was the Brother Law of Mr PRYNN and that he lived with Mr ANGOVE on his farm in the Parish of Perranarworthal in the County of Cornwall for one year and received Eight Pounds for his years wages that after living with Mr ANGOVE for a year he married Catherine CARNE of Gluvias after which he continued to work with the said Richard ANGOVE as a Day Labourer for some years that he hath had seven children by his wife Viz. William, John, Mary, Martha, Catherine, Priscilla and Frances and that Martha is married to John RICHARDS Mariner of Flushing and Priscilla to William RULE of the Parish of Kenwyn that William, Catherine and John died young and that Mary and Frances are still alive and unmarried and this Examinant further saith that he hath never done any Act whereby to gain a Settlement otherwise than is hereinbefore mentioned and sett forth

Falmouth 2nd April 1791
Gentlemen,
 
I beg leave to inform you that Sir Michl. NOWELL & Mr TREWREN attended at Mylor this day & have taken the Examination of John BRIDGEMAN whose Settlement appears thereby to be in the Parish of Perranarworthal --- And as Mr CROXALL has been at an Expense in relieving this family he hopes that you will at once reimburse him and make the necessary provision for BRIDGEMAN’s family, as otherwise they must be removed by an order.
You must repay Mr CROXALL all of his Expenses otherwise the order of Removal will be applied for.

To the Constables, Headboroughs, Tythingmen, and other Officers of the Peace, of the Parish of St. Andew, in the Town and Borough of Plymouth, in the County of Devon; and also to all Constables and Plymouth ] other his Majesty’s Officers of the Peace, to whom it may concern, to receive and convey: And to the Church-wardens, Chapel-wardens, or Overseers of the Poor, of the Parish, Place, or Precinct of Parranswells in the County of Cornwall or either of them to receive and obey.

Whereas Prudence SARAH apprehended in the Parish of St. Andrews within the said borough, as Vagabond (videlicet) wandering abroad and having no visible means of living honestly & has been confined for seven days and upon examination of the said Prudence taken before me one of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace, in and for the said Borough, upon Oath, (which Examination is hereunto annexed) it doth appear, that the place of her last legal Settlement is in the Parish of Perranwell in the County of Cornwall These are therefore to require you, the said Constables, or other Officers, to convey the said Prudence to the Parish of Maker in the County of Cornwall, that being the first Parish in the next Precinct, through which she ought to pass, in the direct Way to the Parish of Perranwell to which Place she is to be sent, and to deliver her to the Constables or other Officers of such first Parish in such first Precinct, together with this Pass, and the Duplicate of the Examination of the said Prudence taking their Receipt for the same. And the said Prudence is to be thence conveyed on in like Manner to the said Parish of Perranwell there to be delivered to some Church-warden, Chapel-warden, or Overseer of the Poor, of the same Place, to be there provided according to Law. And you the said Church-wardens, Chapel-wardens, and Overseers of the Poor, are hereby required to receive the said Person and provide for her as aforesaid.
 
Given under my Hand and Seal, this 8 day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Two.

This Examinant on her Oath says, That she was Lawfully married to her above named Husband who often told her that his Last Legal Settlement was in the parish of Perrenswell in the County of Cornwall & that since his Decease has done no Act to gain a Settlement elsewhere
