The Will of John Oke, dated 13 August 1847I John Oke of Padstow in the County of Cornwall Gentleman do
hereby revoke all Wills Codicils and Testamentary dispositions made by me at any
time or times heretofore and declare this to be may last Will and Testament I
direct my debts funeral and Testamentary expenses and legacies to be paid out of
my real and personal estate I give and bequeath the following sums to the
persons hereinafter mentioned, that is to say, to Mary Williams Cleave Wife of
Thomas Cleave of the parish of Saint Breocke in the County of Cornwall the sum
of Seven hundred pounds sterling to Elizabeth Williams Oke of Padstow aforesaid
the sum of Seven hundred pounds sterling to be paid to each of the said legatees
within six Calendar months next after my decease I give and bequeath to William
Williams Oke Son of my late Brother William Williams Oke the sum of Five hundred
Fifty pounds and to Hannah Oke daughter of my late brother James Oke the sum of
Five hundred Fifty pounds when they shall respectively attain the age of twenty
one years and I direct that the said several legacies shall not vest in or be
paid to them unless they shall attain the said age of twenty one I give the sum
of One hundred pounds to or for the benefit of the Wesleyan Missionary Society
and I direct that this receipt of the Treasurer for the time being shall be a
sufficient discharge for the same I give the sum of One hundred pounds to or for
the benefit of the British and Foreign Bible Society and I direct that the
receipt of the Treasurer for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge for
the same I give and devise all the rest residue and remainder of my freehold
leasehold and personal estate whatsoever and where so ever unto my brother
Joseph Oke his heirs executors administrators and assigns according to the
nature and quality thereof respectively and I do hereby appoint him the said
Joseph Oke Executor of this my Will In Witness whereof I the said John Oke the
Testator have to this my Will set my hand this thirteenth day of August one
thousand eight hundred and forty seven |
