To the Constables of the Parish of Padstow in the
aforesaid County
Whereas on the Examination of MARY PETTIGREW single
woman, taken this day before me on Oath, it appears that
she is now with child of a Bastard, which when born, is
likely to become chargeable to the said Parish of
Padstow and whereas on the examination of the said MARY
PETTIGREW, on Oath before me, she the said MARY
PETTIGREW did charge HENRY TAYLOR of Padstow aforesaid,
Labourer, to have begotten the same.
These are therefore in his Majesty’s name, to require
and authorise you, and every of you, to apprehend the
said HENRY TAYLOR, and bring him before me or some other
of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace, to be examined
concerning the premises, and to be further Dealt with
according to law.
