The Will of Susanna Bawden

In the name of god Amen I Susanna Bawden Widow of the parish of Michaelstow in the County of Cornwall being weak in body but perfect in mind and memory thanks be given unto god calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed unto me been once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all that I give my soul unto the hands of Almighty God that gave it. First I give unto my three daughters their heirs and assigns Elizabeth Chapple Wilce Susanna Secombe and Cael? Gynn all my estate in Michaelstow named Tregreemeere to be equally divided by paying unto their sister Mary Batten £5 per year I also give unto my daughter Mary Batten my estate in St Minver commonly known by the name of Chapple Park her heirs and assigns I also give unto my daughter Susanna Secombe my two gardens and house in the Parish of Michaelstow commonly known by the name of Perade I also give unto my daughter Caroline Gynn the sum of £20 to be paid immediately after my decease my bed table in the parlour bed satin draps and two candles tidy I also give unto my daughter Mary Batten the sum £20 to be applied towards the repairs of St Minver also the coper teakettle clock back settle and black draps and I also give to my daughter Elizabeth my best satin shaul best little geah and best quilt during her natural life and then unto my granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Gynn I also give unto my daughter Susanna Secombe my silver cup best bed high pewter candlesticks second best draps also to my daughter Mary Batten my sword also I give unto my granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Batten the sum of £20 to be paid when she arrives at the age of 21 with interest also I give unto my grandson Henry John Batten the sum of £20 to be paid when he arrives at the age of 21 with interest and in case either one should die before they attain the age of 21 then the surviving one will enjoy the property and in case both die then their unto Isabella Batten will have it and in case the all three die before they attain that age then to be equally divided between between my daughter Caroline Gynns children and all the rest and remainder of my property I give to my daughter to be equally divided after all my joint debts and funeral expenses are paid
