Know all men by these presents that I John Hocken of the Parish of Michaelstow in the County of Cornwall Yeoman am held and firmly bound to William Hocken of the Parish of Lewannick in the same County Yeoman in the sum of two hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said William Hocken or to his certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns, for which payment well and truly to be made. I do hereby bind myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them by these presents. Sealed with my seal. Dated this twenty seventh day of March in the sixth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God King of Great Britain and so forth and in the year of our Lord Christ 1766.
 
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a cause now depending and at issue in his Majesties Court of Kings Bench, between the said William Hocken Plaintiff and the above bound on John Hocken Defendant in an action of trespass and ejectment relative to the Titles to a Messuage and Tenement called Tregawn Gate, three Closes called Hole Parks, two Closes called High Parks and two fields called the Downs, together with all the Houses, Outhouses, Gardens, Stables, Barns, Courtlages, Commons Rights Members and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in the aforesaid Parish of Michaelstow and the Parish of Advent in the County aforesaid And whereas it is agreed by and between the said parties, that in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds in hand paid or secured to be paid by the said William Hocken to the said John Hocken at or before the execution of these presents and of the said William Hocken having released the said John Hocken from the said action and all other actions, claims and demands whatsoever, that he the said John Hocken his Heirs or Assigns shall and will on or before the first day of April next deliver up quiet and peaceable possession of all and singular the above mentioned premises with the appurtenances unto the said William Hocken his Heirs and Assigns free and clear from all charges and incumbrances had made or done by him the said John Hocken and his assigns or any person claiming under him or aforesaid then this obligation to be void or also to remain in full force and virtuous.
