James Rouse James Dodd Resolved: 1. that the nomination of Mr Rouse to the Office of Guardian meets with the approbation of this meeting. 2. That H. Fleming Esq and Mr J Rouse be appointed Churchwardens 3. That Mr J Dodd, and Mr Peter Oliver be appointed Overseers. 4. That H Fleming Esq and Mr J Dodd be appointed Waywardens 5. That Mr J Dodd be assessor. 6. That a rate of 4d in the point be made for the relief of the Poor and 7. That a rate of 5d in the pound be made to cover the expenses of the Church for the past year 8. annual Vestry held this 25th day of March 1844. Persuant to Notice for the
purpose of examining and auditing the accounts of the Parish
Officers, and for the appointing fit and proper persons for
the officers undermentioned. Present: Revd Frederic Webber - rector Henry Fleming Esq, Churchwarden, Mr James Rouse, Churchwarden Mr. Robert Lilley Mr James Dodd, Waywarden and Overseer. Resolved that the nomination of Mr Rouse as Guardian is in accordance with the wishes of this meeting. 2. That Henry Fleming Esq and Mr James Rouse be appointed Churchwardens. 3. That Mr James Dodd and Mr James Rouse be appointed Overseers. 4. H Fleming Esq and Mr James Dodd, Waywardens 5. That Mr J Dod be Assessor. That a rate of 5d. in the pound be made and forthwith collected for the necessary repairs of the Church and for the due performance of divine Service during the past year. That a rate of 1sh in the pound be made for the relief of the Poor and That a rate of 5d be made for defraying the expenses of the Highways for the past year. a Public Notice for that purpose duly given. The
ReverendFrederick Webber Rector of the said
Parish in the Chair Resolved that insmuch as the Tower attached to the Parish Church has been found, on examination, to be greatly in decay and to be unsafe for carrying and ringing bells, it be taken down and restored in the same form and of the same size so far as may be practicable. Penkevil - this nineteenth day of December 1861 At a vesgtry duly convene and held here by adjournment from the Church this day for the purpose of considering and determining on the course to be taken with reference to the Church of this Parish the same having been reported to be in an unsafe and dangerous state and not fit for the further celebration of divine worship therein Resolved that inasmuch as certain parts of the fabric of the church (including the Chancel) are in an unsafe and dangerous condition it is expedient that the same should be taken down and rebuilt. The Right Honorable Evelyn Viscount Falmouth the owner of all the lands in the said Parish (except the Glebelands) having spontaneously offere to take down such parts of the fabric of the said Church (including the Chancel) as may require it and restore the same at his own expense on the site and of the size and form of the present building. Resolved that his offer be gratefully accepted and he is hereby authorised to enter and take down and rebuild the same accordingly - and in order to avoid all possible doubt or misapprehension it is hereby declared that the said Church and Chancel after the same shall have been restored, shall at all times hereafter be repaired and kept in repair by the ratepayers and rector of the said Parish for the time being in the same manner as has heretofore been done.
