This Indenture made the twenty ninth day of July in
the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty six Between
Thomas Roberts of the parish of Veryan in the County of Cornwall Yeoman
William Grane of Bedford Row in the County of Middlesex Gentleman and
Benjamin Best of Saint John Street Clerkenwell in the said County of
Middlesex Coal Merchant of the one part and George John Dunn of
Mevagissey in the said County of Cornwall Gentleman of the other part
Witnesseth that the said Thomas Roberts William Grane and Benjamin Best
in consideration of five shillings of lawful money of Great Britain to
them in hand paid by the said George John Dunn at or before the sealing
and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged Have and each of them Hath bargained and sold and by these
presents Do and each of them Doth bargain and sell unto the said George
John Dunn his executors administrators and assigns All that house
consisting of six rooms and a fish cellar now or late in the several
occupations of Thomas Hicks and Nancy Cross being lot nine also all that
house consisting of a fish cellar four rooms and a Barber’s shop now or
late in the several occupations of William Jago and ______ Hicks being
lot ten also all that house consisting of six rooms and a barklet now or
late in the several occupations of Jane Coffin Mary Ley and John Robins
being lot eleven and all that house consisting of eight rooms with two
small gardens a Courtlage and lumber room to the same belonging now or
late in the several occupations of Jane Rundle Richard Pawlyn and Jane
Johns being lot twelve all which said hereditaments are situate in the
parish of Mevagissey aforesaid and were formerly described as being
bounded on the west with the Court and Palace of Roger Ball deceased on
the south with the Kings Highway leading to the Quay on the east with a
house of John Stephens on the north with a garden of the said John
Stephens And also all that house consisting of a large Fish cellar and
seven rooms now in the several occupations of Thomas Hunkin William
Harding John Bunt and John Pearce being lot two And all that house
consisting of a Fish cellar and salt house with a Courtlage adjoining
late in the occupation of ____ Baker being lot three which said
hereditaments forming lots two and three are of were formerly parcel of
a certain tenement called the Malthouse tenement situate in the said
parish of Mevagissey together with all and singular the rights members
and appurtenances to the said houses and hereditaments mentioned and
intended to be hereby bargained and sold belonging or appertaining And
the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and
profits thereof and of every part thereof To have and to hold the said
houses hereditaments and premises mentioned and intended to be hereby
bargained and sold into the said George John Dunn his executors
administrators and assigns from the day next before the day of these
presents for and during and unto the full and end term of one whole year
from thence next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended Yielding and
paying therefore unto the said Thomas Roberts William Grane and Benjamin
Best their heirs and assigns the rent of a pepper corn on the last day
of the said term if the same shall be lawfully demanded To the intent
and purpose that by virtue of these presents and by the force of the
Statute made for transferring uses into possession the said George John
Dunn may be in the actual possession of the hereby bargained and sold
premises with the appurtenances and may be hereby enabled to take a
grant or lease of the reversion and inheritance of the same premises and
every part thereof To and Upon the uses and trust to be declared thereof
by a certain Indenture already prepared and intended to bear the day
next after the day of the date hereof and made between the said Thomas
Roberts of the one part the said William Grane and Bejamin Best of the
second part the said William Grane of the third part George Grane late
of Hampstead in the County of Middlesex but now of the City of Worcester
Esquire of the fourth part Thomas Stark of Mevagissey in the said County
of Cornwall of the fifth part the said George John Dunn of the sixth
part and John Browne of saint Austell in the said County of Cornwall
Gentleman of the seventh part as shall be mentioned expressed and
declared of and concerning the same In witness thereof the said parties
to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and
year first above written
