Dear Sir
I will send you a list of the other arrears tomorrow. I write now respecting Mr G H Andrew who has not yet paid his tithes £56 2 2d and seems inclined merely to put me off. He has however promised to give me next Thursday a note payable at xmas for the amount signed by his brothers who take his farm and between whom and himself in agreement drawn up by Mr Whitford of St Columb is to take place, I am afraid that he is rather a slippery person and think that the former means to make him pay are taken the better his brothers can pay the amount and if they offer their security I should take it - & allow the money to be paid at xmas. I will thank you to desire the money to be sent by Thursday next & if this is not done to proceed against Mr G Andrew
M W Bevan remittances then was in (?)ion of £75 last year which he generally has called the Michaelmas payment the 75 which you speak of only came in its proper time
All the tenants in arrear of rent have promised payment by midsummer except Old of Trelowsa who is to pay £30 by midsummer and 10 directly after harvests If these sums are not paid by all as promised you must have recourse to distress - I have written to Mr Bevan if he doesn’t answer me satisfactorily by sending the money I will request you to see that the matter is put on a proper footing, I Lobb of Tayellow has paid me £25 he talks of going to America to look for a farm there I believe that he has no intention of going off without ? whatever is due for rent on giving proper notice but as he has once when tenant for a long term just expired valid acted so far unfairly as to have incurred a forfeiture of this lease I think this had better be mentioned to Mr Coode. I am told that he is a man of property and has a large stock ? ?do not know my self about it .
Yours truly
T H Peter

PS I will also thank you to take a councils opinion whether my agreement with the tithe payers by which they promised security for the payment if the rent change cannot now be stamped and enforced against them

Sent to W Shilson St Austell.

Written in Peter's hand.
