The Will of Joseph Soby,  proved 6 February 1761

In the name of God Amen I Joseph Soby of the Parish of Menhiniot in the County of Cornwall carpenter being sick in body but (blessed be God) in Perfect Mind and Memory Revokeing all former Wills and Testaments Doo make this my Last Will and Testament in the manor and forme following that is to say first I Raie up my Soull into the hands of Almighty God hopeing for Salvation by the meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour and my body to be buryed after the Manor of Christian Burial.
 
Item I Give unto my brother Thos Soby one shilling
Item I Give unto my brother John Soby one shilling
Item I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Soby Forty Pounds of Lawfull money to be Paid her when she shall attain the Age of Twenty one and my wife Anne to mentain our sd Daughter until her is of age; and halfe of the Housel Goods when our sd Daughter shall be in age and all the Goods after my wife decease.
All the rest of my Goods Moveable and unmoveable not formerly nor hereby Given and bequeathed I Give and bequeath unto Ann my Loving Wife whome I make my whole and Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty Day of October Anno Domini 1758.
