The Will of Richard Lewarn, dated 12 July 1742

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Richard Lewarn of the parish of Mawgan in Pyder in the County of Cornwall – Carpenter being in Health & Sound & perfect in Mind and memry thinks be to God for the same and knowing the unsartenty of Life and the unsatenty of Death I doe maked ordaine this my Last Will and Testament FIRST I Bequeath my soul unto all mighty God my Healer and Redeemer hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ my Blesed Redeemer to have remistion of my Sins and my Body Deasently to have the Cristian Bueral at the discreaton of my Executors hereinafter named and what worldly Goods is in my power to dispose I Give and dispose the Same in maner and forme as fooling
ITEM I Give and Bequeath unto the pore of Magan not unto them that have Parish pay but unto fatherless and widoes and Such as have most need to be paid unto them in 3 months time after my Deaththe sum of 2 pond & ten shillings to be laid at the discretion of my Executors.
ITEM I Give and Bequeath unto my Brother Naththanele Lewarn Twenty Shillings and to my Brothers 2 Sons and – Dafter ten shillings to each of them.
ITEM I Give and Bequeath unto my God Children Nathanell Lewarn, John Oliver, Nickles Clemow, James Luny, Henry Hoob, Mary Randel Margreat Hoob two Shillings and Six pence unto each of them.
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeth Randell ten Shillings and to each of her Children five Shillings.
ITEM I Give and Bequeath unto my Sister Philly Steevens ten Shillings and unto each of her Children five Shillings
ITEM I Give and Bequeath unto William Rotle (not sure of the name) and Jelian Row Ten Shillings unto each of them.
ITEM I Give and Bequeath unto Nathell Row and Steven Row and Andraw Row two Shillings and Six pence unto each of them.
ITEM I Give and Bequeath unto my wife Mary and Nickellus Randell I do give unto them all my Goods and Chattels of what Kind Soever not herein before Given I do hereby mak and – oredain and a point thes said Mary my wife and Nickellus Randell the son of Michall Randell my whole and Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament and my will is that thes Several Legases Be payd in one year after my diseas IN WITNESS whereof I have heare unto Set my Hand and Seall this 12 of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty two. Signed and published and declared and Sealed in the presents of us.

The before written Will of the abovenamed Richard Lewarn Deced was Proved in common Forme Before the Reverend Mr Wilem. Waddon The Master of Arts Ogfficial en. 29th. Janry. 1747 and Admion of the Goods en. Of the Said desest and of all things howsoever Concerning his Said Will was Granted to the Executors therein named (being first Sworn etc) Saveing en no Inven.ry Exhibited
