The Will of Charles Wills, dated 21 September 1794

  In the name of God Amen
I Charles Wills of the parish of Marham Church in the County of Cornwall Blacksmith being of sound & disposing mind Memory & Understanding do make and Ordain this to be my last Will & Testament hereby revoking All former & Other Wills by me at any time heretofore made
Imprimis I will & direct that all my just debt & Funeral charges be fully paid & satisfied
And I do hearby Authorize impower my two in Trust herein after named to sell & dispose of all that new built Dwelling House with the Appurtenances situate in Marham Church Town wherein I now reside for the purpose of paying My Debt in case in case the same shall be necessary any time with in the space of three years to their Disposition
Item I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Jane Wills All that Cottage House situate in the parish of Bridgerule in the said County now in the possession of Thomas Smale and five pound and five shillings to be bound to a trade if she like, And if not, to be paid to her in one Guinea a year
Lastly All the rest residue & remainder of my Goods Chattels rights and Effects whatsoever or wheresoever situate I give & bequeath unto my Son Edward Wills & Daughter Elizabeth Wills to be equally divided amongst them share & share alike And I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint Mr Samuel Bray of the parish of Launcells in the said County and John Wills of the parish of Bridgerule in the said County of this my last Will & Testament to be Executors & Guardians in trust to & for my said two children Edward & Elizabeth And it is my Will & Desire that in case either of my said two Children Edward & Elizabeth shall die before he or she shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years that such part & so much of my Effects as he or she shall be intitled to shall go to & be equally divided amongst my two surviving children - In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the twenty first day of September 1794 (signed) Charles Wills

Charles Wills the testator as for his Last Will
and Testament in the presence of us who at his request
in his presence in the presence of each other have subscribed
their names as witnesses hereunto
