The Will of Nathaniell Hairfoot, dated 14 April 1748

In the Name of God Amen Aprill the 14th 1748.
I Nathaniell Hairfoot of the parish of Marhamchurch in the County of Cornwall Butcher being of Sound & perfect memory thanks to Almighty God for it but calling to mind the mortality of my Body do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following. First & principally I Give & Bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping through the meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour to Receive a Pardon for my Sins and my Body to the Earth to be Buried in Decent Buryal according to the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter named & Toutching those worldly Goods which it hath Pleased God to Bestow on me I Give and Bequeath in Manner following.
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Grandson John Ham my Estate in Launcells called Butsper Except the Two Row Meadows after the death of my Wife.
Item I Give unto my GrandDaughter Prudence Ham the fields called Butsper Parks & the Two Meadows part of Butsper as above Excepted after the Death of my Wife.
Item I Give unto my daughter Mary Short Ten Pound to be paid one year & half after my death.
Item I Give unto my Gradson James Short Ten Pound to be paid him one year & half after my Death.
Item I Give unto my Son in Law John Short Five Pound to be paid him one year and half after my death.
Item I Give unto my Brother John Hairfoot Ten Shillings & also Ten Shillings a Peice to his two Children to be paid one year and half after my Death.
Item I Give unto my Brother Roger Hairfoot Ten Shillings and also Ten Shillings a Peice to his two Children to be paid one year and half after my Death.
Item I Give unto my Sister Mary Lashbrook Twenty Shillings and Ten Shillings to her Daughter to be paid one year and half after my Death.
Item I Give unto my Sister Sarah Tracey ten Shillings to be paid one year after my Death.
Item All the rest of my Goods and Chattels not Given nor Bequeathed I Give and Bequeath unto my Loving Wife Catherine Hairfoot whom I make my Sole Executrix to pay all my Depts Legasies and funeral Charges and to see this my Will perfected and In Witness that this is my last Will and testament I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal

in presents of

  The before Written Will of the above named Nathaniell
Hairfoot is a true Copy Examined and Compared with
the Original this 8th day of October 1748 by us

  The before written Will of the above named Nathaniell
Hairfoot Decd was Proved in Common form the 26th day
of Sep.r 1748 before the Rev.d Dr. Jonathan Baron Master of
Arts Surrogate ?? and Admion of the Goods etc. of the said
Decd and of all things howsoever Concerning the said
Will was Granted to the Executrix therein Named (being
first Sworne etc Saveing etc.
