The Will of John Allen, dated 12 October 1778

The Will of John Allen. Proved 29th January 1779
By Permission of Almighty God, I John Allen of the parish of Maker in the County of Cornwall yeoman being very weak in Body but if Sound Mind and Disposing Memory (blessed be God) calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to Die and needing to Settle the Temporal Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in the Life and in order to proven to all Difference and Disputes ?------? the same after my Death and Decease do make and Ordain this to be my Last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following (thats to say)
First I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margery Stadon the Wife of Robert Stadon now in the Town of Millbrook in the said Parish of Maker the sum of one shilling.
Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Trefathen the Wife of Thomas Trefathen of the Parish of St Germans in the County of Cornwall the sum of one shilling.
Also all the residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels Rights Credits and Personal Estate whatsoever or of what kind of Nature soever after my Funeral Charges and Just Debts are paid I do hereby Give Bequeath and Devise them to my Wife Mary Allen whom I likewise Constitute make and Ordain my sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby and Utterly disally, revoke make and disannul all and other Former Testaments Wills Legacies Bequests and Executors by me in my will before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this twelfth day of October in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Eight.
