Settlement Papers for Robert Vague & Family, dated March & April 1755

Cornwall (To wit). We The Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Lanivet in the County of Cornwall aforesaid, DO hereby own and Acknowledge Robert Vague Tinner and his wife Elizabeth and five Children Mary Vague John Vague Elizabeth Vague Frances Vague and William Vague To be Inhabitants Legally Settled in the parish of Lanivet aforesaid In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our Hands and Seals this thirty first Day of March in the Twenty Eighth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of god of great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and in the year of our Lord 1755

TO – The Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Luxillion in the County of Cornwall or to Any or Either of Them
We whose Names are hereunto Subscribed; two of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the County of Cornwall aforesaid do Allow of the above Written Certificate and we do also Certify that Roger Bray The Witness who Attested the Execution of the said Certificate hath made Oath before us That he Did See the Churchwarden and Overseer whose Names and Seals are to the said Certificate Subscribed and Set Severally Sign and Seal the said Certificate and that the sign of the said William Bray whose Name is above Subscribed as Witness to the Execution of the Said Certificate is his own proper Hand-writing. Dated the 3rd Day of April in the year of our Lord 1755
