The Will of John Michell,  dated 19 December 1747

In the Name of God Amen I John Michell of the Parish of Ludgvan in the County of Cornwall Tayler being weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory Blessed be to the Almighty for it I do make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
 
Imps. I Give and Bequeath my Soul to the Almighty God that gave it me trusting in the Merritts of my Saviour Jesus Christ for my Sins, and my Body to be Buried in a decent Christian Buriall at the Discression of my Execr. whom I shall hereafter name.
 
Item I Give to my Daughter Julian the wife of Joseph James the Sum of one Shilling Immediately after my Decease.
 
Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth the wife of Rich[ar]d Thomas the Sum of one Shilling to be paid at the Same time.
 
Item I Give to Elizabeth Tronsin and to her Daughter Elizabeth one Shilling to each of them to buy them two pair of Gloves to be paid at the Same time.
 
Item I give to my Daughter Lucretia the wife of William Tronsin the House wherein I now dwelleth Together with the Garden Situate Lying and being in Ludgvan Church Town all which premisses are the Lands of Inheritance of Capt. Francis Clies Deceased Together with all my Household Goods of what kind soever, Also all my wearing apparell which I am now possessed of or shall be possessed of at the time of my Death. And furthermore I give to my Daughter Lucretia the said wife of William Tronsin half of my Right or Adventure in Keneggy and it within the parish of Gullvall and County aforesaid and the other half to my Son in Law Joseph James.
 
Item I do hereby give all the Rest of my Lands Tenements and all other my premisses to my son Thomas Michell whome I do ordain and make my whole and Sole Exect. Of this my last Will and Testament He paying all my Debts and Legacies whatsoever. Revokeing and Disanulling all other Wills and Legacies whatsoever heretofore Given by me In Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my Hand and Seal this Nineteenth day of December Anno Domini 1747.

6th May 1748 Before the Reverend Mr. Willm.
Waddon Clk Master of Arts Official etc. and
Admion of the Goods etc. of the Said Decd. and
of all things howsoever Concerning the Said Will
was Granted to the Executor therein named (being
first Sworn etc.) Saveing etc.
