ELIZABETH ROSKELLY (page torn) --ance he- --n a -- -- before (page torn) Philip Tingcombe Pomery Gent --- --- of His Majestys Justices of the Peace (page torn) -- -- --d for the said Borough, and Voluntarily made Oath that she was on Sunday last delivered of a female Bastard Child within the Parish of Lostwithiel within the said Borough, And that THOMAS JANE of the Parish of Lanlivery, Labourer is the father of the said child.

Bond for maintenance of child

9th July 1804
Thos Jane’s Bond for maintenance of a base child.
 
These Present bind THOMAS JANE of the parish of Lanlivery in the County of Cornwall, labourer, his Heirs, Executors and Administrators unto William John Henry Couch and James Drew, Churchwardens, and Hugh Rowe and Thomas Cory Overseers of the poor of the Borough and parish of Lostwithiel in the said County, in the sum of Twenty Pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain, to be paid to the said Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the said parish of Lostwithiel for the time being, or their lawfull Attorney or their asigns. Sealed with his seal, and signed and dated this ninth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & Four.
 
Whereas ELIZABETH ROSKELLY, widow has lately been delivered of a female Bastard Child, of which the said THOMAS JANE is sworn the father, and which said Child is chargeable to the said parish of Lostwithiel, having been born within the said parish
 
Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such that the said THOMAS JANE his heirs, executors and administrators shall from time to time and at all times hereafter indemnify and discharge the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the said parish of Lostwithiel and also the Inhabitants of the said parish, and every of them, from the maintenance of the said Bastard Child, and from all Costs, Charges, Damages and Expenses that shall or may be occasioned by reason of the Birth of the said Child within the said parish of Lostwithiel Then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in the full Force, Effect and Virtue.
