Will of Abel Werry, dated 21 April 1746

In the Name of God Amen I Abel Werry of the Burrough of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall Taylor being of Good and Perfect Reason Sound Memory and of Reasonable understanding do (when it shall please God to call me out of this life) commit my Soull to Almighty God that first gave it’s being and my Body to Christian Burial According to the Discretion of my Exemt. and herein after mentioined, First of all I Give and Devise to my Brother Hugh Werry all my Lands at Kingswood in the Parish of Cardinham in the said County of Cornwall to him and his heirs forever Also I Give and Devise unto my said Brother Hugh Werry all that One Dwelling House Lying and Being in the said Burrough of Liskeard with the Garden and Appurtenances thereunto belonging now in Possession of Richard Pethick Cordwainer which said House I lately Purchased of William Moreshead Esqr. to him the said Hugh Werry during his Natural Life and from and Imediately after his Death then I Give and Bequeath the said House Garden with the Appurtenances unto Abel Werry his Younger son my Nephew and Godson and his Assigns dureing my Right Also I Give and Bequeath unto my said Nephew and Godson Abel Werry my Apparole made and not made And also my large Bible New Testament and Common Prayer Book Imediately from and after the Death of my Executrix and not before the Apparole made and not made imediately from and after my Decease Also I Give and Devise unto my said Brother Hugh Werry part of the Dwellinghouse I now live in part of the s.d House within the said Burrough of Liskeard ( That is to say) the Shop now in the Possession of Matthew Josling the Kitching behind the same the Chamber over the said Kitching the Two fore Rooms the Coal hole the Closset Adjoyning One other Room and the Middle floors now in possession of the said Matthew Josling and One fore Garrott and One Back Garrott immediately from and after Decease Also I Give and Bequeath unto my said Brother Hugh Werry all the rest of my Goods and Chattells immediately from and after the Death of my Executris to him his Executors Administrators and Assigns Also I give unto my Beloved Wife Dorothy Werry all the Rest of my Dwelling House I now live and which I have not hereinbefore given and Bequeathed to my said Brother Hugh Werry with all my Goods and Chattells unto her during her natural Life she paying and Dischargeing one halfe of the Rents Rates Taxes Dues dutyes Repairations and Incumbrances due Issueing and payable out of or in respect of thes.d promises Also I make constitute and Appoint my said wife Dorothy Werrey to be the Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revokeing and dissanulling all other and former Wills by me made Published and Declared In Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal this Twenty first day of Aprile in the Year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty Six.
 
and if my wife doth marry she is avoid of what I have Given as above written and my Brother shall be to the Charge of my Buriale and to be decently Bered and to be bered to Cardeniam

The before written Will was proved in Common form the 6th Day of October 1746 before the Rev.d Mr Wm. Waddon Clk Mr. of Arts Official er. And Admion of the Goods er. of the said Deced and of all things howsoever concerning his said Will was Granted to the Executrix thereinnamed / being first Sworn er. / Saveing er.)
 
No In: The Before written Will is a True Coppy of the last Will and Testament of the abovenamed Abel Werry Examined and Compared with the Original this 31st Day of October 1746. By us.
