Will of John Roose/Rouse, dated 5 Feb 1707

In the name of God I John Rooss of the pish of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall yeoman being sick & weak in Body but of sound and perfect memory & remembrance praised be God I do make & ordain this my last will and testament in manner & forme Following
 
First I bequeath my Soule into the hand of Almighty God my maker hopeing thorough the merritts of Jesus Christ my Blessed Redeemer to receive pardon & forgiveness for all sins & my Body to Christian burial
 
Item I give (with this provision) if my oldest son Philip do enjoy my Estate in Penhale when he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years, it is my desire that Phillip shall have Penhale when he is one & twenty years of age & that he shall pay his mother twenty shillings yearly dureing her life, then I give unto my Son John forty pounds to be paid unto him as it is hereafter expressed (approved?)
 
Item I give unto my son Cornelius Forty pounds to be paid unto him as it is hereafter declared(?) that is to say when my Son John shall accomplish the age of one & twenty years my Son Phillip shall pay him twenty pound and att the end of three years after he shall pay him the other twenty pound and likewise when my Son Cornelius shall accomplish the age of one & twenty years my Son Phillip shall pay him twenty pounds & he shall pay him the other twenty pounds att the end of three years after, but if it shall happen that my wife Dorothy doe dye before my son Phillip is one & twenty years of age then he shall pay his two Brothers their forty pounds apiece when they are one & twenty years of age
 
Item I give unto my wife Dorothy the Estate in Boduell South she paying the mony one mortgage to John Quiller
 
Item I give unto my Son Phillip one Bed Furnished the great pan & the great Crorke (crocke?) & the Cupboard & a table when his is 21 years of age & 4 pewter dishes
 
Item all the rest of my goods & Chattells I give unto my wife Dorothy and doe make her my Sole Executive of this my last will & testament revoking all former wills & Testaments by me made For wittness whereof I have hereunto gott my hand & seal the Fifth day of February 1707
Memorand it is my desire that if either of my Sons doe happen to dye before they are 21 years of age his portion shall be divided between the other two
