In the Principal Registry of the Lord Bishop of Exeter.

In the Goods of Ebenezer Edey deceased.

Appeared Personally Benjamin Edey of Trembraze in the parish of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall Gentleman and Ebenezer Edey of Trembraze aforesaid Yeoman the two Executors named in the last Will and Testament of Ebenezer Edey late of Trembraze within the parish of Liskeard aforesaid Yeoman within the parish of Liskeard who died on or about the 29th day of November 1853 and they being of the Society of persons called Quakers solemnly affirmed that the Estate and Effects of the said deceased, which he any way died possessed of or entitled to within the DIOCESE OF EXETER, and for or in respect of which a Probate of the said Will is to be granted,exclusive of what the deceased may have been possessed of or entitled to as a Trustee for any other person or persons, and not beneficially, and without deducting any thing on account of the Debts due and owing from the deceased, are under the Value of six hundred Pounds, to the best of the affirmants knowledge, information and belief,  And they lastly solemnly affirmed, that the said deceased was not possessed of or entitled to any Leasehold Estate or Estates for Years either absolute or determinable on Lives, to the best of their knowledge, information, and belief.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Ebenezer Edey of Trembraze within the Parish of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall Yeoman I direct that all my just debts may be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease./ I give and bequeath to my dear Wife all my interest and shares in any mines whatsoever and all my farming stock household goods and furniture of every description which I may die possessed of for her own use absolutely after and subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expences And I give to my said Wife all those my tenements and lands situate at and called Trembraze aforesaid with the appurtenances for her life Subject nevertheless to the payment thereout by her of the Annuity of Forty eight pounds which I have charged thereon during the lives of Thomas Cummins and his Wife And after the decease of my said Wife I give and devise the said tenements and premises subject as aforesaid unto my children Benjamin Edey, Ebenezer Edey the younger George Edey and Marianna Edey equally between them and their respective heirs and assigns as tenants in common for ever And as to the residue of the real and personal estate and effects whereof I shall die seized or possessed I give and bequeath the same equally between my said children absolutely as tenants in common And I appoint my said sons Benjamin Edey and Ebenezer Edey the Younger Executors of the my will – I revoke all other Wills In witness whereof I the said Ebenezer Edey the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of the sixth month called June and in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fortyfive ___________________(signed) Ebenr Edey (LS) (locus sigilli - location of seal) ________________________________
