The Will of Mary Hocken, dated 9 July 1748

In The Name of God Amen July the Ninth 1748 :
I Mary Hocken of the Parish of Lewannick in the County of Cornwall widow being at this time weak and Sick in Body but of perfect mind memory and understanding (thanks be Given unto God) do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
Principally and first of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God and my Body to the Earth to be Buried in such Christian Like and decent manner as my Executrix hereafter named shall think fitt
Imprimis I will that all my Debts, Legacies and funeral Charges Shall and be faithfully paid.
Item I Give unto my Children Mary Hurdon, John Hocken and Margaret Hocken and to each and every of them one Guinea of Gold apiece to be paid three months after my decease.
Item I Give unto my son William Hocken all the Household Goods now belonging or in any wise appertaining unto me
Item I Give unto my son William Hocken (whom I make Executor in trust for my Daughter Florence Stanbury) all my Reedy money, Debts, wearing apparel of what kindsoever and everything else I dye Possessed of (Except what is above Given and Bequeathed).
In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my Hand and Seal the day and year first above written

acknowledged by the said –

Will and Testament in
Presence of

    The above written will of the abovenamed Mary
Hocken deced is a true Copy Examined and
Compared with the original this 6th day of September
1749. By us :

The Before written Will of the Beforenamed Mary Hocken was Proved in Common form the 26th May 1749. Before the Revd. Mr William Waddon Clk Master of Arts Official etc and admion of all and Singular the Goods Rights Credits and Chattels of the sd deced and of all things howsoever Concerning the said will was Gauled to the Exec. in Trust in the sd will named being first sworn etc and Bond being first Given etc Saveing etc
